Colour, Remembered Exhibition

  • Toowoomba Regional Art Gallery 531 Ruthven Street Toowoomba City, QLD, 4350 Australia (map)

Colour, Remembered brings together 20 contemporary Australian artists who utilise colour to interrogate notions of personal and collective memory or nostalgia through their practice. Drawing on diverse textual and visual languages and deploying them in a common space, this exhibition weaves a collective narrative of human experience, grounded in colour associations and symbolic or affective meaning.

In turn, the viewers are encouraged to reflect on the significance of colour in their own lives and memories. This expanded narrative is facilitated through an interactive Colour Memory Bank, where community members are invited to contribute their voice to an unfolding visual story.
