Special offerings- exhibition vase Tamborine Mt clays

Usually offered only in galleries, this vase is quite a striking feature piece for you to gift or to keep for your home or office.

Finely crafted from Australian porcelain, this vase/pot has nerikomi layers of coloured porcelain and various stoneware clays inlayed through its walls. Sourced from local volcanic clays of Tamborine Mountain, these cups are some of the first from this collection. 3 special wild clays of Tamborine Mountain. I have researched local potters who sourced their own clay in the 1950’s, located these original clays, allowed access to them, processed and tested them. Fired to cone 10 these clays present beautiful and vibrant additions. The stories about these industrious mid century women potters comes soon. I am currently working with an art historian and a geologist. I can't wait to share.

Each piece is hand crafted by Larissa in her underground bunker studio based on Tamborine Mountain, Queensland.

Polished and silky smooth porcelain inside and out- but with some extra bumps and grit to add contrast. With a protective coating of Liquid Quartz ceramic sealer.

To be used as a small vase, this vessel has a striking contrast of pattern, colour and line.
Price is for 1 vase- which has its own special personality.
Fired to cone 10 which offers superior translucency, whiteness and strength.

Recommendation is to hand wash for a long & happy life.
Size: 11cm height, 12 width approx: 750ml volume
