Strange forest things cup i
$65.00 Sold Out
Inspired by our family walks through Tamborine Mountain's rainforest and the many layers of leaves and mulch becoming the new organic soil layers. The rich smell, vibrant moss and crushed leaves.
This collection- named strange forest things are for my collectors who like dirt and all things experimental. Rules were thrown out a tad here and I enjoyed working with a lot of raw minerals to create these pieces. If you like perfectly imperfect- these will make you smile.
Finely crafted from Australian porcelain, this cup has nerikomi layers of coloured porcelain and various stoneware clays inlayed through its walls. Sourced from Queensland's Great Dividing Range, these cups have slices of raw volcanic minerals and clays. Those sparkling bits you see are granite, iron and trachyte.
Each cup is hand crafted by Larissa in her studio based on Tamborine Mountain, Queensland.
Price is for 1 cup- which has its own special personality.
Polished and silky smooth porcelain inside and out- but with some extra bumps and rocks. Sealed with liquid quartz sealer (is a non-toxic, food-safe, water based, permeating sealer that allows you to turn your unglazed ware into waterproof, & highly stain resistant functional tableware.)
Fired to cone 10 which offers superior translucency, whiteness and strength.
Recommendation is to hand wash for a long & happy life.
