Join Larissa at her home studio (a unique underground bunker) on Tamborine Mountain for this hands on and comprehensive one day workshop all about finding and using local clays.
We will visit one of Larissa’s fav clay sites and dig a small amount for each participant to process and test.
Learn all about the 2 main ways to processes clays using a variety of local clays that present different qualities, firing ranges and properties.
Test clays for plasticity and make changes to them so they become workable clay bodies.
Create slips and terra sigilatta.
Make a collection of pinch pots using some of Larissa’s special clay stash.

Bring an apron, 2 x 5lt lidded plastic containers, additional lidded leak proof jars, some plastic bags, and a Styrofoam box or other container to safely take your work home.
